What are Phthalates? 
Phthalates are mostly used as plasticizers in PVC products. Annually more than 1 000 000 tonnes of phthalates are consumed in Western Europe (AgPU, 2006). As ubiquitous environmental contaminants phthalates are taken by the general population, this raised concern because phthalates considered to be endocrine-disrupting chemicals. 

Phthalates and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals might have contributed to adverse trends in reproductive medicine, which show an increase in testicular cancer and hypospadias as well as a decrease in sperm counts (Sharpe & Irvine, 2004).

Phthalates are present in environmental contaminants, can be presence in the air and dust, with overall reported in developing countries as compared to developed countries. Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and Di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) were found to be predominant in both dust and air. Therefore there is an importance to keep close to Phthalates free (Agarwal & Kashyap, 2018)

• Researchers since the mid 1990s have demonstrated that olfactory stimuli can influence consumer cognitions (Bone and Jantrania 1992), affect (Bosmans 2006), attention (Morrin and Ratneshwar 2003), product evaluations (Spangenberg et al. 32 A. Herrmann et al. / Journal of Retailing 89 (1, 2013) 30–43 2006), and purchase behavior (Chebat, Morrin, and Chebat 2009).
  
  
• Most published findings have depended on various contextual factors influencing the impact of scents on consumers, such as the appropriateness or congruity of the scent associated with products (Bosmans 2006; Mitchell, Kahn, and Knasko 1995) and store environments (Spangenberg et al. 2006; Spangenberg, Grohmann, and Sprott 2005), salience of the scent (Bosmans 2006) and brand familiarity (Morrin and Ratneshwar 2000, 2003).
